People today are very mobile and busy, and most of us have lives beyond sitting at a desk all day, so what is the one option we all have - our cellular phones and they go with us everywhere.  Most business owners know the importance of Mobile-Friendly websites, because it could mean the difference of a new prospective customer or missing one completely.  There are definite arguments whether or not having a mobile friendly site is beneficial and we will explore a few of them today.

One thing to be clear about is that  Mobile-Friendly websites and Mobile-Optimized websites are two different types of websites. I'll talk more about mobile optimized websites below.  Many people ask me, well which one is more beneficial or which one should I choose....I tell them BOTH!

One item about a Mobile-Friendly or a Mobile-Optimized website is that it cannot be flash based - this goes beyond all rules, flash is an image based application and not SEO friendly even on desktops let alone mobile phones. When we think about Mobile-Friendly we know there are several types of browsers, and making sure the site is developed to be compatible for all types of browsers and phones is a must. Times and technology are rapidly changing and keeping up with all of the trends and needs of a Mobile-Friendly website takes time and development. If you don't your competition will.

Many people ask what is a Mobile-Friendly website, well having a Mobile Friendly site means that you can view the site in a browser on your mobile phone and it is not distorted, it looks like a desktop version of your website on your mobile phone.  So this is definitely a necessity as well as having a Mobile-Optimized website.

A Mobile-Optimized website is one that displays correctly on hand-held devices such as smartphones, whether on Tablets, iPads, Windows or Android Phones.

Some features include:
1. Loads fast – bloated sites cost more money to access
2. Easy to read – mobile phone screens are 1/5th the size of desktop computers
3. Easy to navigate – menus have limited space on mobile devices
4. Minimal scrolling - not just vertically but also horizontally
5. Avoids using Flash – because Apple products do not support Flash

Remember be ahead of your competition and in front of your clients!

Networking with Groups

NETWORKING GROUPS & ORGANIZATIONS:  THE BENEFITS OF NETWORKING

Networking is more than going to meetings or an event, eating dinner and having a drink while visiting with your colleagues; it is a significant and crucial action of building relationships and personal growth while meeting new connections and creating a structure of future opportunities.

Remember you’re not there to sell your product or services, that is defiantly not what networking is about.  Shaping your relationships and business means a lot of work and time invested into learning about people not selling your own services and products. A large part of your time will be consisted of gaining their trust and showing that you are a honest business person that they would want to conduct business with in the future.

Four Rules  1. Get Noticed  2. Be Visible  3. Gain Connections  4. Share Knowledge
